I hope you find this page of Interest - Thanks for your Time

  •    Born 1939 - Ex National Serviceman Private who signed on and enjoyed many years service in the Army, finally hanging up my hat as a Captain in 1979. Never missed the service but always miss the comradeship. The mentor in my life was my grandfather who served in both World Wars.  Compared with us how much they gave for what little they received - Bless them All.
  •    Finally retired from productive life as they say in 1999, as an Ex Managing Director I quickly found out that yesterdays man is tolerated but only just.  And why not my age group arguably have seen the best that life has had to offer so far, I have some doubts about what is in store for our grandchildren, and we can enjoy life to the full as part of the life long learning society that now abounds.
  •    I was very fortunate whilst giving time to Age Concern in a project about World War memories to meet a very fine Gentleman 93 years young who still to this day partakes in his painting as a self taught artist.  His work is of the finest quality (I think) and it brings him a quality of life very rare in such passing years. I confess I was immediate in my selfishness to think I will have some of that!  Hence some of the paintings you will find in the Gallery.  It also has brought a new concept to my life in Art appreciation now there is a discussion subject if ever there was one.
  •    I must also confess that until my ultimate retirement I was little if any involved in the voluntary sector.  During my first years of retirement that changed and after some three years I took stock to find that I was now working far more hours voluntarily than when I worked and was paid for those hours.  Was this retirement I asked myself, I now still visit my dear painter friend but alas have let the other voluntary involvement slip away.  That is until now when I find again rather selfishly that I can gain a great deal of enjoyment from painting as I do and have an opportunity to put something back into the local community, since I do not see my self developed talent as the founder of a third, fourth or fifth career.   Simply a chance to do some thing which I hope is worthwhile and offers a modicum of longevity.
  •    I also enjoy tinkering in this IT World that is all around us,  hence this effort at involvement I do hope that you think a worthwhile effort and that you equally would find it worthwhile to get involved either as a purchaser/donor, a talent waiting to be found or just to pass the time of day, rest assured you will be very welcome.

  •    Finally if you have read all this blurb then you deserve at least a cup of tea, go put the kettle on and think of what you would wish to submit to the site.  Above all remember this - One Smile is Worth a Thousand Tears - Have a great day!
